Utilizing knowledge and experience in the broad materials industry gained through trading and our existing businesses, we will define focus areas, develop and strengthen our business, build a large-scale business foundation in each area, and aim to create a business portfolio that will provide stable profits.
Essential Materials Division
The Essential Materials Division engages in the trading, manufacturing and sale of essential resource materials in the manufacturing industry for a variety of materials around us, mainly for construction and infrastructure applications.
For example, this division operates Cape Flattery Silica Mines (an Australian silica sand mining company that is wholly owned by Syntelli), which manufactures and sells high-grade silica sand, one of the main materials for glass used in solar power generation, etc.
The division is also involved in the manufacturing and sales business of cement and ready-mixed concrete used in the construction and infrastructure fields, in the manufacturing, sale and trading of carbon materials that contribute to the achievement of carbon neutrality, and in the trading of salt and ethanol, which are the raw materials used in number of industries from food to industrial applications.

Steel Products Division
The Steel Products Division mainly engages in the distribution, processing and sale of steel products through Metal One (a steel trading company, 60% owned by Syntelli). With industrial knowledge concerning mobility, construction and infrastructure, etc., and by providing technology and solutions related to DX, EX and recycling, this division is working to develop material seeds for the next generation and realize a circular economy, while further enhancing and strengthening the value chain.

Performance Materials Division
The Performance Materials Division is working to transform the functional materials industry by leveraging Toyobo Syntelli Corporation, a joint venture (49% owned by Syntelli) that develops, manufactures, and sells functional materials, utilizing Syntelli’s extensive network and market intelligence. Additionally, this division is involved in developing AI technology and semiconductor-related materials business.
Furthermore, we are also engaged in manufacturing and marketing resin-related products sourced from competitive raw materials in collaboration with our partners. We are also working to build a supply chain based on low and decarbonized raw materials.

Basic Materials Division
The Basic Materials Division is carrying out trading and investment activities worldwide utilizing its strong market presence in the petrochemical field (olefins, aromatics, and plastics) and basic chemical field (PVC, methanol, ammonia, etc.). While possessing the functions for industries and business partners, this division is working to increase the value of the companies it has invested in and develop businesses through market intelligence.
