US Methanation Project

e-methane Development Project Utilizing the Cameron LNG Terminal in the US

In order to decarbonize heat demand, which accounts for approximately 60% of the residential and industrial sectors, introduction of “e-methane” (synthetic methane) could be expected, allowing utilization of existing gas infrastructure to minimize additional social costs. Syntelli is conducting detailed joint studies with Tokyo Gas, Toho Gas, and Sempra Infrastructure to develop a supply chain, and is aiming to produce e-methane in the US from raw materials such as hydrogen, CO2, and water. The aim is to export e-methane to International Market from 2030 utilizing the Cameron LNG Terminal, a project in which we participate in.
